We are a student and youth run campaign. Youth Power Shift state coordinators help to build our network locally in their state(s). Please join our ranks and help us pool resources and build power for an unprecedented shift to clean energy!

Coordinator Responsibilities

  1. CAMPAIGN POINT PERSON Relay questions and information between local groups in your state and the national Youth Power Shift campaign.
  2. STATEWIDE OUTREACH Reach out to new youth and student groups in your state who are working on energy campaigns.
  3. RESOURCE LIAISON Compile media, updates, and other resources from local groups in your state and share with the national campaign.
  4. COORDINATE ACTION Encourage participation in our National Days of Action in your state and provide support for those working to pass student resolutions for clean energy.

  • Our Organizers' Listserv - Contact other Youth Power Shift coordinators through our energy@seac.org listserv for Youth Power Shift organizers. (Email josh@seac.org to be put on the list)
  • Youth Power Shift co-coordinators - Email Tricia and Josh if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns along the way.
  • The Student Environmental Action Coalition National Office - Call the SEAC National Office (215)222-4711 or email Becky (chi@riseup.net) for advice and information about resources available to coordinators through SEAC National.

    Physical Resources

  • A few sample emails for doing outreach
    1. Youth Power Shift - (SEND FIRST) Send this email to someone who you want to be a local contact for the campaign. It includes a general plug for the campaign at the bottom.
    2. some questions for our network - (SEND SECOND) This email asks 5 questions to gauge the person's interest in local versus national Youth Power Shift organizing.
    3. Youth Power Shift communication lists - (SEND THIRD) Send this to let the person know about our two email listservs for campaign communication.
  • Adopt-a-Windmill Flyer - Distribute this flyer about our national wind energy project to students who you contact.
  • Youth Power Shift Outreach Brochure - Give this brochure to people who want to learn more about our campaign.
  • Youth Power Shift Action Packet - Print this out or email the .pdf version to people who want a resource guide for running a clean energy campaign on their campus.
