SEAC Internships
SEAC Intern Interest Form
Thank you so much for your interest in SEAC, and the fight against the power structures that threaten our environment. If you are interested in getting involved with SEAC and find that internships are not for you, please check out other ways to find your place with SEAC.
About SEAC:
What makes SEAC unique is that it is led and supported by its members--specifically, youth and students. Although environmental destruction grows and injustice thrives on a large scale, these problems are finding their match in the energy of students and youth willing to fight for their future. Directing this energy, organizing those eager to fight, and empowering this generation to secure a healthy planet today, and tomorrow-these are ambitious, but essential, goals to which SEAC aspires.
We function with a small staff and a tight budget, and so are particularly interested in hosting interns with strong focus, self-directing, personal initiative and creative follow through.
Current Projects:
As always, SEAC is interested in expanding our contact with and support of students and youth working on environmental campaigns, as well as making the connections between struggles for justice. SEAC is currently updating and creating new promotional materials for several of our campaigns--including our 20th anniversary in 2008! We are also working on expanding our grassroots fundraising capabilities to become more self-sustaining.
Interns with SEAC would have a mentor for their project to give you initial context for your work, to help with strategizing and creating a work plan, and to provide some support and guidance throughout your internship. Because of the limited capacity of staff, it is important that interns are able to maintain a focus on their project and be largely self directing.
Potential projects could be:
Fundraising Intern Fundraising Interns are volunteer positions accepted on a rolling basis. SEAC will help you get class credit and sometimes work study credit as well as train you in fundraising basics.
